Dec 7th Sketch Reveal at SOUS ~ Dream a little Dream ~

Happy Friday, everyone! My favorite day of the week! Weekend ahead, lots of good things accomplished throughout the week AND it's Reveal Day at Stuck on U Sketches. I am finally back in the game and creating again  .. feels.so.good!!!! This fortnights sketch was created by yours truly and I am so pumped over seeing the DT bring it to life. Wow! Wonderful job, ladies!

The photo (courtesy of Kristin Alexander, photographer) is of one of my dgd MacKayla with one of her horses. I simply adore this photo. MacKayla looks so relaxed and happy .. and very "in her element." So in keeping with "the girl and her horse" theme, I wanted to go a bit heavy on the distressing and also add lots of texture. I went a little crazy with the Distrezz-it-all  as well as my Ingvild  distressing tool and inks.

I loved getting messy again with my Dusty Attic pieces including my favorite DA vine torn in half and the photo frame which is actually Decorative Gate DA0319. Loved getting out the Gesso and paints including some new Silks acrylic glaze in Olive Vine and Teal Zircon. Then I used my black and white FAber Castell Gelatos to lighten and darken for  highlighting and shadows. There is also some Dirty Martini Glimmer Glam on the vines.

For textural contrast I've used burlap and fringe lace with Prima stones for glimmer as well as various pearls. That was offset with a Tim Holtz metal bookplate. My florals are Petaloo. The title is a mix of rub-ons, tiny alphas and a product strip!

I think that's about it! I encourage you to hop over to Stuck on U Sketches, snag the sketch and create something beautiful with it! We'd love for you to play along with us this time. It's a crazy busy month but this sketch is really fairly simple if you have a minutes to  unwind and create! We'd love to have you! Also ... don't forget to peruse the DT creations this time .. wow! They've outdone themselves. We have  some new gals onboard with us and you won't want to miss that!!!

Until next time, thanks for stopping by! Love reading your sweet comments!
