Unforgettable Mini Album ~ Creative Embellishments

Hello, Creative Embellishments fans!
Sandi here with you today sharing a mini-album that I created using my Creative Embellishments chipboard and my 13 Arts Unforgettable papers.
Let's take a look!

Here is the journal at a glance created with the Creative Embellishments Junk Journal Cover, 6x9
Here's what is looks like unaltered:

I covered the front, back, spine and inside covers with various papers from the 13 Arts Unforgettable collection and then adhered the two spines with Beacons 3 in 1 glue.  I used my cropodile to create some holes in the spine for stringing my binding through. So far I've haven't added any dangles of charms to the spine because I'm still looking for something unique.

Besides the cover of the journal. I've added the Infinite Rectangle and the Love Birds Set.  These chippys were altered with Tim Holtz Distress Stain Sprays including Black Soot, Speckled Egg and Picket Fence.

Then I added a few embellishments from the 13 Arts Unforgettable Ephemera Pack.
Next I began creating 2 "signatures" for the Journal and looped them through my binding.

Because I had so many pages and photos, I've created a collage of the inside covers and the inner signature pages.
I have not added any further chipboard pieces pr stamps thus far.
It was more important to me to get the "bones" of the album created.

Here are another set of pages including the very center of the album where the two signatures come together. What I like about those pages is the addition of some 13 Arts Transparencies which give a cool look but also provide a spot for tucking photos or the like.

Here is another group of pages with lots of tuck spots and an interactive flap. Really nothing too fancy. I'm still deciding if this journal will be a gift or if I'm keeping it. Since I'm unsure of the theme, I've kept things more simple.

This last set of photos shows the last page and inside back cover along with back of the mini which is simply covered with paper for durability. I like my albums to lay flat. I threw in another front photo to complete my row.

If you've ever created a mini album, you know that they are can be time consuming. However, shopping the Creative Embellishments Store for your Journal or Album cover and pages can reduce your workload and give you time to just be creative!

I hope you enjoyed this post today and maybe even feel inspired to create an album or journal this summer.

Thanks for dropping by!
See you next time!

Frolic in the Sun ~ Creative Embellishments

Hello, Hello!
How are my Creative Embellishments fans today?

Sandi here with you today sharing a layout which was actually my "planned project" for the current July Challenge based on my niece's SnapChat photo. However, when I realized that Nicolle had assigned a birthday theme to July, I had to change courses and save this for today. Ha!

Based on that fun photo, I wanted to create something bright and fun.
I've been toying with doing a layout reminiscent of a gallery wall, so that was kind of in my head as well. I had so much fun with this!

The Mint Box Flourish Frame Set is one of my favorite. So I used a couple of those and altered them with Walnut Stain. I intended to go back some metallic waxes but changed my mind mid-course,

My papers are the older Frolic collection from Blue Fern Studios. Perfect for my photos!

Here you can see the Square Mini Frames as well as some of my mixed media work. I've used the Heart Bokeh Stencil to push my modeling paste through. After that was dry, I stamped with some brown ink and the Distressed Script Stamp. So fun! I did my color work after the layout was otherwise completed. All media is form 13 Arts.

Here is another one of the Mint Box Flourish Frame Set 2 which I've turned upside down so that I could cluster my frames closer together.

Sharing just a little of the dimension and some of the paint splatters.

Once again this is the July Challenge Image:

Thanks so much for coming by today!
Hopefully, you found some new inspiration.

Creative Embellishments July Challenge

Welcome to the July Challenge, everyone! Funny story is that I've had a project planned for this Challenge for many months now but ... when I sat down to work on it and saw that the "Twist" is a Birthday Party Theme, I had to stop and totally rethink what I would create. After I regrouped, I decided to just do a simple birthday card and save the other project for later this month. So, here's my simple card, just some paper layering and use of my beloved CE chipboard. The cute little cupcake is from Cupcakes 2 where I inked the bottom and painted the icing, then added a couple of red painted strawberries. To make them more realistic, I added some green Stickles for the stems. My greeting is from the Birthday Word Set and was altered with Distress Walnut Stain. Lastly, I added a ribbon and it is ready for giving. I hope you will enjoy this bright, festive Challenge image! I can't wait to see your entries!
