The Real Deal ~ October Swirlydoos ~

Love, love, love Webster's Pages! So, I was ecstatic that the October Swirlydoos kit is filled with Webster's Hollywood Vogue papers. And Krissy has paired them with the most amazing trims and embellishments!

I don't normally do a lot of purple but the day that my kit came, I had also gotten this photo from my dd.
The color of her dress was so perfect to go with this particular light purple page (Shine a Light.) DD wears hair extensions despite having long hair of her own.  So, here she is posing with her own locks right before getting a new set of extensions. As a hairdresser she is always doing a little "something" to her hair.  Can't blame her!

But back to the layout.  The houndstooth paper is called Feather Fashion and the leopard along the sides is from the Vellum piece.  My teal photo mat is Creative Imaginations and was cut using my Cricut Sentimentals cartridge.  Love how it works so well with the purple! The peacock was cut from my French Manor cart .. perfect for these Hollywood Vogue papers!

The Prima swirl is from the kit but my flowers are actually from Generations Crafting .  I loved adding in the filmstrip .. pefect for these papers! The title mat is a Pink Paislee Artisan Element painted with Shimmerz Pearlz. I let it dry overnight before adding the small alphas from my stash.

Finally I added in some purple pearls and some lace from my stash. Then added a few drops of Black Diamond Stickles to the chandelier before calling it a wrap! Well, I say  a wrap .. I'm always thinking "what else can I add?" Never fails .. I always do! LOL

Graphic 45 Halloween in Wonderland ~ DT LO for Generations Crafting ~

Don't you just love this new Graphic 45 Hallowe'en in Wonderland collection?! I had so much fun creating this one .. and I am not really into Halloween anymore!  Lots of fussy cutting, distressing, pop dotting and paper layering. This my my youngest dd and her hubby who always have a Halloween party with their friends each year. Last year they went as Flash Dance and Poison.  My title was cut with my Cricut Wild Card cartridge. Papers used were You're Late, Square Hare, and Halloween in Wonderland. That's all I kept track of anyway! Used some stickles on Alice and her pumpkin patch ... although it doesn't show up too well.  Added a black sheer ribbon around my photo and a black feather from my stash. Some bling, brads and I was done!  You can find these papers at Generations Crafting.  Let Floren know that I sent you for 5% off your first order.

Also, wanted to let you know that I've been out of town for a few days, so I am just now making it around to everyone's blogs to see what you've been up to. We had a great time .. despite a 5 car pile-up on the way home.  No serious injuries, praise God,  but my car is  a mess! And I admit to being a bit sore and achy!
Hope you make it back on Friday to see my DT submission for Stuck on U Sketches.  I love it!

Beautiful Soul ~ BoBunny Olivia ~ DT LO for GenC ~

Oh, I had soooo much fun working n this page! I am head  over heels with Bo Bunny's new Olivia collection. The autumn colors are  so ME!!!  I just had to buy them and am glad I did. I am also submitting this as a DT project for Floren at Generations Crafting to give readers something to drool over before we start rolling out all the Halloween goodies.

Love this floral page which I used as my base.  Then did some layering, distressing and punchwork.  I added a Dusty Attic piece on the corner of my photo.  My large flowers are Prima but I used my Websters Pages Bloomers in peach to anchor the photo. Another thing I really like about the Bo Bunny papers is the cut out papers for journaling or matting.  Finally, I used some Stickles to give a little sparkle to the floral paper and to the Dusty Attic piece.

I am slowly working on my Book about Me.  This photo was yours truly at age 2

I hope you will check out Floren's store as well as the project gallery over there. There's plenty of inspiration to be had!  Use referral code ref-ku7ys when you check out to save 5% off your first purchase!

Snow day! ~SOUS DT reveal for 9-17

Hello, bloggers! Today is the big reveal day over at Stuck on U Sketches with our newest design team members.  Let me tell you .. there is plenty of inspiration there!

This fun Snow Day layout features my dgds Malerie and Maddison last winter. The photos of them are so cute I can't believe I haven't scrapped them sooner! I wanted to go with the colors light powder blue and deep red.  I had some CM paper from a couple of years ago that were perfect.  I trimmed them about a half inch so that I could add dark red cardstock behind it giving it a darker edge.  For the background panel, I used one of my MS deep punches and inked the edges a bit. Then I cut a variety of snowflakes from several Cricut cartridges, A Child's Yeat,  Joys of the Season and Chirstmas Noel. Those were popped with foam squares that were cut really small.  I mean really, really small! Then I added Icicle Stickles and Diamond Dust to them.

I planned on doing a "scene" with some trees to place on the outer edges but after cutting them, changed my mind.  I like the look of the pages better without them for some reason ..  My title was cut with Winter Woodlands and matted.   My little snowbird was from Home Decor.

Just a close up showing the green satin ribbon I used, some Prima flowers and bling to finish things off.  I have to share that I don't really get an opportunity to do many snow layouts with us living in North Central Texas. When we get a snow, it's gone before you know it usually.  However, these photos were taken in Oklahoma  while the girls were away at school.  I'm pleased with how my pages turned out even if I don't get much practice!  LOL

Last page.  Get a look at those snow filled trees!

I have to cut my post kind of short today.  I had a late day at the office and a very long phone call after dinner. That's life  .. but I love it!

I hope you get a chance to welcome our newest DT memebers at SOUS

Be Still my heart ~ DT LO for GenC ~ Graphic 45 Steampunk ~

Wow, have I ever enjoyed using my Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante collection! This is one of those paper lines where you save every little scrap because you like it so much!  When Floren asked me to use it as Design Team work for GenerationsCrafting, I was at first enthused .. but then got a little worried. Until it arrived and I feel in love!!! The colors are so me.  I really should buy an extra pack. Some of the tags and images are a little out of my norm but they really grew on me ... and appealed to that whole funky side of myself.

The layout above was done using the Steampunk papers as well as a sheet of Basic Grey Kioshi and an old black Creative Imaginations doily paper.  The pix are of my dd Danielle  and her hubby taken at a masquerade ball birthday bash in August. How fun is that? I glammed this one up with black lace and stones, a black Prima Swirl and very yummy Prima flowers! Gorgeous! I added Diamond Dust to my tags and titled this one Be Still My Heart.  Thought they looked so cute together!

Just a few close-ups.

This next has some personal meaning for myself and my family but on the surface is just some road trip photos that my cousin took and shared with me.  Using the Steampunk as the base, I mixed in some Graphic 45 Proper Gentleman tags and one from G45 Le Romantique. There is also a sheet of Graphic 45 from the Botanicello(?)  collection.  Just a simple but very different page.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you find some inspiration. Have a great week!

Mama ~ My Creative Scrapbook ~ LE

Isn't the weather gorgeous today? At least it is where I live! I love that I can see the sun!  It was cooler and rainy this past week but now the temperature is rising again.

Well, I was working on a layout of Mom yesterday when the postman brought my LE kit from My Creative Scrapbook.  It is loaded with papers from Prima's Annalee collection.  When I saw this blue
paper with the floral edge, I thought WOW that would go great with Mom's photo!!  So I changed horses in mid-stream and now I'm not sure whose photos will grace my other page! LOL Maybe I will scrap this photo a second time! Actually, that would be a third time! I scrapped it once when I first started scrap booking and my style has really changed since then.

Almost all of my trims, flowes and embellies came from the kit. I did use some K and Company butterflies and dragonfly. And a few miscellaneous blooms and stones.  The journaling was actually from one of the pieces of patterned paper in a straight line across the page.  I cut it out and then cut it into pieces, inked it and put it on my page. It says "Memories like a fresh breeze wisp through my mind warming my heart and refreshing my soul."  The memories keep me going on those days when grief feels so  new again.  I love how young Mama looks here ..  all of 15 years old!

Okay, I am going to post this and then go see about getting some dinner together for my hubby! Have a fab weekend if you can. And remember those who lost loved ones 9 years ago today.

Charming

Happy Labor Day to all of you who are celebrating today. I wanted to share this quick LO that I did Friday night of my mom.  This pose was a new one of her that I hadn't scrapped before.

I used some things from my new September Swirlydoos kit .. which is awesome  .. but I don't want to waste it on just any ole photos. So I'm digging around for some of my fave.

My mom was a great seamstress and taught me to sew.  I thought this particular sheet of paper was ideal for a page of her. Lots of layering here .. 6 sheets I think. Some pearls and lace. Some Prima and vintage findings. This paper is so gorgeous in real life. It has lots of red glitter on it and really shines.

Thanks for visiting. I need to start my round of visiting your blogs later today!

Recital ... Revisited ~ SOUS Sept 3

Woohoo! It's Friday again and I've got a 4 day weekend! I'm so looking forward to that!

And of course, with it being Friday .. it's time for another reveal at  Stuck on U Sketches ! There is lots going on this weekend at SOUS .. we have announced our new design team members (congrats, ladies!) and we have a new sketch posted.  Additionally, our current DT was challenged to use some papers donated by Glitz Design.  This is the Distressed Collection and it is gorgeous! The 3 of us always get really excited to see how the other members of the team use the same paper.  Of course, we hope you play along .. using the papers of your choice! And one last thing .. we have blog candy donated by Glitz, so leave a comment at SOUS to be in the drawing and respond by September 9th.

Okay, on to the layout.  The colors of this paper collection were perfect for some photos I took at my dgd Malerie's Senior Recital .. the repeat version played for those of us who couldn't get to OBU on a week night.  Thanks, Mal! It was fantastic music played by one extremely talented gal. How do they memorize one solid hour of music? Anyway, Maleries wore a black satin dress with a red collar and lots of rhinestone jewelry.  Talk about matching photos to paper .. I was all over this one LOL!

Here is a close-up of one of the flower clusters  .. all Prima from Generations Crafting except for the floral vine which was from Angelica's Etsy store.  The rhinestone flourish is one I've had on hand forever from Zva.  Was glad to finally use it up!

I thought the black and white striped paper was representative of a piano keyboard and that the curve of the sketch mimicked the lines of a grand piano.  I love how that all came together.  I didn't get a close-up but there is a row of black lace that I placed at the top of the LO which reminded me of the curtain on a stage.  I added some black stones along the lace to dress it up even more.

My photo mat was cut with my Cricut Sentimentals cartridge .. by now you know it's my fave!  I chalked it in red and added some red stones to the top.

My title is a combination of black MME Lush alphas and Opposites Attract for the word revisited in red.

Lastly, a close-up of the red ribbon from my stash ..  and one of my flowers cut with Graphically Speaking. I actually cut a whole mat of flowers but they just didn't suit me as well as the Prima for this particular page.

This was a fun sketch .. so I hope you will play with us this time. You have 2 weeks to complete your project.  And let me just put in a plug here that Generations Crafting will be carrying all the new lines of Glitz Designs.  Be sure to check it out HERE.   And you can use my referal code for 5% off your first order ... ref-ku7ys.

Now let me hear a round of applause for our newest SOUS team members:  Fern Riley, Debbie Burnes, Beatriz Guzman, Annette, Stine and Lisa McIntyre (Bug Junkie).  Welcome aboard, ladies! You will soon be receiving an email from Leah with further information.
