** Now ... are you ready to see some of my fun creations with this wonderful kit? Because I am so ready to share!!! **

"A New Season"
Main Kit only
I think this was my favorite project from this kit although I enjoyed them all and still have tons of product left for another LO that I hope to finish up soon. Check out my awesome snowflake flower! I'll be doing a tutorial on it in January, so stayed tuned!! I'll also be presenting more details on each layout throughout the coming month. Everything on this layout is from the main kit except for the doily from my stash. Photo is of my sweet dgd MacKayla. I did a bit of photo editing with my Florabella actions to soften it and make it a bit edgy!

 "Blizzard"
Main kit, EAO, FAO, stash
Based on Amarylis' sketch
This wintery layout was inspired by Amarylis' sketch although I did venture off from it a bit, flipping  it and getting a bit carefree with my design! I've used lots of layers, paints and a couple of things from my own stash .. the resin Prima fairies, doilies and gauze. Interestingly, my letters were cut from the Provocraft Happy Hauntings cartridge. My photos are of a "freak" snowstorm in 2010 when we got over 10 inches of snow. Very rare for this part of Texas.

"Snow Angel" canvas
Main kit, EAO and stash
Scrap lift of Gabrielle Pollacco's mixed media canvas and template found HERE
This project is my pride and joy of the month! I've been wanting to create another canvas and decided this was the perfect time to try my hand at using Gabi's template of a lady in motion. (Thanks for the inspo, Gabi!) I intended to create my own dress template but with the holidays I ran out of time! Gabrielle's was perfect for this, however, so I used it! What a great use of the gorgoeus BB papers. I've been holding on to this set of feather wings for some time now and thought they'd be perfect for my Snow Angel. I've added molding paste, glimmer mist, Dusty Attic and of course the gorgeous BoBunny Powder Mountain papers. (Butterflies by Lisa Gregory. Thanks, Lisa!)

That's all from me for today! But stay tuned for more.

*********

My secret word is: "IN A"

The next blog on the hop is:
Amarylis Doria

Remember ~ only send the secret sentence to tracey@scrapthat.ca

All of us at ScrapThat! want to wish you and your families a Happy New Year!
We are looking forward to seeing a whole host of new layouts!

I am Fearfully and Wonderfully Made ~ SOUS ~

Happy Friday, everyone! Are you ready for the Big Day, as in Christmas? Whew, I am almost ready! Just some last minute cooking and cleaning and I think I'll be ready!

As you know by now, Fridays are my favorite day because it is Stuck on U Sketches Reveal Day. Today is the reveal day for our layout sketch. This one was designed  by yours truly and I sure had fun creating it, then using it and also in seeing what the SOUS DT has done with it! Can't wait to see YOUR creations using it! Maybe after Christmas but hopefully soon!

The subjects of my photo are my little twin grandsons Danny and Bobby when they were about 8 months old. This was my first time (in many years anyway) to fussy cut the people from the photo. I thought they would look kind of sweet since the boys were already "posed" in an "action" position. Actually, not posed but more like actually doing it, LOL! They do keep their momma busy!

******

Although this layout took a good deal of time to prepare, I must keep my comments short for now due to  a variety of demands on my time today. (Mostly good stuff but more than the hours in the day!) Hopefully, I can come back later today and add some details for ya!

Many thanks for stopping by! I want to wish you the Merriest of Christmases! Hope yours is wonderful  and full of good cheer!

Dec 7th Sketch Reveal at SOUS ~ Dream a little Dream ~

Happy Friday, everyone! My favorite day of the week! Weekend ahead, lots of good things accomplished throughout the week AND it's Reveal Day at Stuck on U Sketches. I am finally back in the game and creating again  .. feels.so.good!!!! This fortnights sketch was created by yours truly and I am so pumped over seeing the DT bring it to life. Wow! Wonderful job, ladies!

The photo (courtesy of Kristin Alexander, photographer) is of one of my dgd MacKayla with one of her horses. I simply adore this photo. MacKayla looks so relaxed and happy .. and very "in her element." So in keeping with "the girl and her horse" theme, I wanted to go a bit heavy on the distressing and also add lots of texture. I went a little crazy with the Distrezz-it-all  as well as my Ingvild  distressing tool and inks.

I loved getting messy again with my Dusty Attic pieces including my favorite DA vine torn in half and the photo frame which is actually Decorative Gate DA0319. Loved getting out the Gesso and paints including some new Silks acrylic glaze in Olive Vine and Teal Zircon. Then I used my black and white FAber Castell Gelatos to lighten and darken for  highlighting and shadows. There is also some Dirty Martini Glimmer Glam on the vines.

For textural contrast I've used burlap and fringe lace with Prima stones for glimmer as well as various pearls. That was offset with a Tim Holtz metal bookplate. My florals are Petaloo. The title is a mix of rub-ons, tiny alphas and a product strip!

I think that's about it! I encourage you to hop over to Stuck on U Sketches, snag the sketch and create something beautiful with it! We'd love for you to play along with us this time. It's a crazy busy month but this sketch is really fairly simple if you have a minutes to  unwind and create! We'd love to have you! Also ... don't forget to peruse the DT creations this time .. wow! They've outdone themselves. We have  some new gals onboard with us and you won't want to miss that!!!

Until next time, thanks for stopping by! Love reading your sweet comments!
