C'est Magnifique .. September's Full Reveal

It's time for September's Full Kit Reveal at C'est Magnifique Kits! We've already shared the papers and add-ons, and today we get to show you the main kit ... I know you will love it!

But first,  I have a couple of new layouts to share today that I have created using September's  "Shabby Dreams" kit.

"Memories"

For this page I've paired the KaiserCraft True Romance papers with the gorgeous ScrapBerry papers. I did a bit of stenciling in the background and used some Lindy's Stamp Gang Cotton Candy Pink mist. The Blue Fern wreath was cut in parts and treated with Gesso and then a mix of LSG Fat Fabios until I achieved a color I like. I've added in a few handcrafted flowers made using my Donna Salazar Rose Creations die.

I've used the Main Kit and the Embellishment add-on.
From my stash I've used mists, molding paste, brads, pearls and paper doilies.

Here are a few close-ups:

Because C'est Magnifique is sponsoring Sketchabilities this Reveal, I've done a layout using the Sketchabilities sketch #98 by the awesome Karan Gerber. I love using sketches because they simply the work and almost guarantee a well-balanced page.

"Fun"

Again I have paired the two paper collections and focused on using the more neutral colors for this sweet boy page. These are my twin grandsons on a little walk together amongst the Fall leaves of last year. Awww! I've  used my Crafter's Workshop Tile Textures stencil along with molding paste, and Lindy's Stamp Gang Tibetan Poppy Teal mist in the background.

I've used the Main Kit, the Flower Add-on and the Embellishment Add-on.
From my stash I've used mists, molding paste, a stencil, cheesecloth, pearls and paper doilies.

And here is that sketch:

Now, are you ready for some kit photos? Thought so!

The Main kit

Told you it was gorgeous!

A third Sneak layout using the September C'est Magnifique Kit

I'm telling you, Leslie sure knows how to put a kit together! If you haven't visited C'est Magnifique, I'd encourage you to pay a visit and check it out!

My last share until Reveal Day:

"Cherish"
This may be my favorite of these projects! I so love having granddaughters to scrap! This is my youngest, Marianne. She is "the princess" and so probably deserves to be surrounded by beautiful flowers and embellishments. Don't you love the sweet Blue Fern Studios bunting from the add-on? I've painted it and then stippled on a layer of white Gesso. I've used an Inkido stamp from my stash to the right of the photo for a bit of contrast behind my other embellishments. A generous amount of Gesso wash was utilized to bring everything together.

I've used the Main kit, the flower add-on and embellishment add-on.
From my stash: stamp, seam binding, doilies, Gesso.

Here are few close-ups:

That's all from me today! Thanks for coming by.
I love reading your comments: thanks so much!

Another Sneak Layout ~ C'est Magnifique's September Kit

Hello, everyone! I am back today with another Sneak layout using the September 2013 C'est Magnifique Kit. Full Reveal will be on August 30th! You won't want to miss it!

For this one, I focused on highlighting the KaiserCraft papers but teamed them with some ScrapBerry.

"Happiness"
These papers were such a dream to work with! This photo is of granddaughter Malerie at her recent wedding. The papers seemed so girly and perfect to use along with a bridal photo. I off-set the die cut sheet for some added interest.  Again, I've used a stencil from my stash to reflect the concept of time. Add in some flowers, a few Petaloo butterflies, and a bit of a peek-a-boo and it's nearly done.

I've used the Main kit, the flower add-on and embellishment add-on.
From my stash: stencil, molding paste, pearls, mist.

And a few close-ups:

I have one more to show you on Wednesday  .. I think it is my fave so far!
Thanks for coming by!

Sharing a sneak peek layout from the September C'est Magnifique Kit

I am "up" on the C'est Magnifique Blog today with my first DT post showcasing a few of my "Sneak peek" creations using the September kit "Shabby Dreams."
This September kit is truly amazing! But since we can't show it to you yet, I'll share a bit of what I've done using it!

"Love"
I just had to use this sheet of the ScrapBerry paper with this wonderful printed image of a woman.  I found just the right photo to pair with it of sweet family member, Olivia. Inspired by my scrappy friend Marilyn Rivera, I did some major paper pleating, rumpling.  The paper folds seemed the perfect spot for placing a few pretty flowers. I used my Damask stencil and molding paste on the left side of the page for a little added detail along with a bit of punch work. A little fussy cutting, some added tulle from my stash and a few things from the EAO completed this page.

I've used the Main kit, the flower add-on and embellishment add-on.
From my stash: stencil, molding paste, tulle and pearls.

Here are a few close-ups:

I have 2 more layouts up on the C'est Magnifique Blog but will share those with you on the 19th and 21st here on my blog.  But if you're anxious to see, then head on over there! We'll be doing the Full September Kit Reveal on August 30th, so stayed tuned!

Thanks for coming by!

Sandi's Scrap That! August "Tip" ~ One sketch, three ways!

Hello, everyone! Sandi here today with something just a little bit different for you.  I have long been wanting to try using Amarylis' awesome monthly sketch in a just a little bit different format. This month I challenged myself to use her sketch 3 times  .. but change the orientation of each of them! How fun is that?!

So, starting off, here is the original sketch ... and below, you will find the layout that I created using it in the original format.

This was such a fun one to do!

***

Next, I took the sketch and turned it vertically and then I also flipped it horizontally.
Ooooohhhh, don't you love it?!  I do!

.. and below is what I created.

Totally different look, huh? I had such fun doing a bit of a twist and am so happy with the results. I think I am going to try this one again sometime soon. (Excuse the misspelling .. forgot a b in remember. Oops!)

***

Lastly, I took the original sketch and simply rotated it 2 times to the left and came up with yet another great sketch!

What an easy way to maximize the sketch .. and this is only 3 possibilities !!!

This is the layout I created using this variation of the sketch. I cannot even pick a favorite!

***

I am so pleased with how this little experiment turned out! I hope that you will give it try!
Thanks for stopping by!

A Sad Farewell to Stuck on U ....

On the Stuck on U Sketches Blog today ...

"It is with a lingering bit of sadness that I must announce the time has come for me to step down from Stuck on U Sketches. Although it has been almost 4 years since we began our little challenge site, it seems (in many ways) like only yesterday that we were kicking around some great "blog name" ideas. So, stepping down is a little bit like leaving your 4 year old at Pre-K that first time. Lots of self-doubt and tears but ultimately turning around and heading to the car knowing that everything will be okay.

But before I go, I want to thank YOU, our loyal followers for helping to make SOUS what it is today! You have been the greatest encouragement that any gal could have! As I have designed ... regardless of the project ... it has been with you in mind. Thank you for following, for participating and for becoming good friends! I know that I leave you in the capable hands of my co-leaders and friends, Nanne and Leah whom I love dearly  .. and our amazing Design Teams. They will continue to keep the inspiration going.

I'm not saying good-bye ...  but instead  .. "See you around!"

Thanks for a wonderful, memorable and fulfilling 4 years!"

But new things are coming, so stay tuned!

Sandi's August Kit Creations with close-ups ..

Sandi here today to share my August Scrap That! Kit creations!
Granddaughters sure make my scrapping life easy! (Photograph by friend Kristen Alexander.) I did a bit of background work on this page although not nearly so much as my "She" page below. My Prima Gate mask is about to bite the dust and I'd sure buy a new one if I could find one! But I did use it in a couple of places along with some molding paste; then spritzed wirh Lindy's Stamp Gang in Afternoon Delight Denim. I pulled out a few favorite punches .. Martha Stewart Floral Vine, deep-edged Scroll Hearts, and Swirling Lace. You can see that I've used my Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish Die for my leafy vines. I randomly tucked my white lace from the kit here and there and added green microbeads in about 3 places ... to just add a little something different. Butterflies are by friend and Guest Designer this month, Lisa Gregory. Aren't they scrumptious? And I so loved the big pearl bling in the EAO kit this time! I added some alphas from last month's kit and used Natasha's technique to distress them.
Here are a few close-ups:

(oops, forgot the "b")

_____

This is probably my favorite project this time around! The photo is of my sweet granddaughter MacKayla. As you can see, I went a little crazy with my background using stencils, masks, mists and molding paste. It was a bit of mixed media delight! To punch things up a bit more, I've added some corrugated cardboard from the shipping kit to create a fun edge. I fussy cut the floral corner of one page and popped that up on more corrugated cardboard, embossed some of the grey card stock and added my florals. I also dug out my Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish die for my leafy vines. The Dusty Attic birdcage #5 is from my stash but just seemed to fit perfectly on my page. Lastly, I tucked in the sweet owl, Etsy butterfly and loads of the Want2Scrap lavender pearls. You can see that I've added some of the spanish moss from the kit in amongst the florals. I used a heavy hand of white Gesso to make everything blend. The alphas are from a previous Scrap That! kit.

_____

More granddaughters! LOL This photo was taken at DGD Malerie's wedding a couple of weeks ago. I think I am the only one to capture this shot, as the photographer had started loading up his equipment to change locations. Even with lots of photo-editing, it is still not the outcome I'd like but I'm thrilled to have it! I used my TCW ledger stencil on this page although it is hard to see and of course more LSG mists which were sprayed and allowed to drip. I hadn't used my MS Garden Gate punch in a while, so I thought it would be a fun element to use here along with my MS Double Arches. My Dusty Attic mini fences (from my stash) were a perfect backdrop for my florals. They were painted and then I used some Patina Rub 'n Buff. I also tucked in lots of Dusty Attic vines from my stash to really make the florals pop. You can also see the Fabscraps chipboard swirl at the bottom right.  I simply snipped off the bird, coated it with white Gesso, then used some Olive Vine Silks acrylic paint and Glimmer Glam in Dirty Martini. Same thing with the DA vines. You'll see more of Lisa Gregory's butterflies here as well. I altered several of my flowers with LSG mists to achieve the colors I was going for and then dabbed them with Pixie Dust Glimmer Glam. More scattered pearls ... and isn't it just fun, fun, fun? Kind of goes with the whole crazy, jubilant mood of the girls! Except for our little flower girl.

That's it from me today. I'll be back tomorrow with a short "tip" type tutorial.

I have so enjoyed the past 15 months at Scrap That! and want to thank Kaitlyn for having me. It has been a wonderful experience that I will surely miss!
