HeArt & Soul Artists ~ a new Design Team ~

Hello there, everybody!

If you are here for Sketchabilities, click HERE.

Welcome to Reveal Day for HeArt and Soul Artists "presented by The Color Room."  Two of my favorite sites,  The Color Room and Scrap for Help have merged their efforts! The site will continue to offer the monthly Color Palette but are adding in the Scrap for Help challenges. We will also be offering both video and PDF tutorials to raise money for global missions! How awesome is that? I'm so excited to be part of this wonderful Design Team as a Color Challenge Girl!

I have included the palette for March at the end of my post. Our Scrap for Help "twist" is to add a piece of junk mail to your project! I hope you find time to play along!

For my layout I've mixed some yummy 7 Dots Messy Head with stencils, molding paste and fabulous color in the Prima and Petaloo blooms.  My accent piece is a Creative Embellishments
chipboard piece that you can find HERE.  I have simply gessoed it and highlighted it with chalk ink!

In the background (behind the flowers) you'll see my "1-800-Flowers" junk mail piece! I gessoed it to make it a bit more obscure! =)

Don't you love these GREAT Spring colors? So, hop on over to HeArt and Soul to upload your project! Don't forget to add the junkmail!

Sketchabilities Reveal Day, February 28th!

Hello again, I am back with my Sketchabilities Reveal for Sketch 110! Such a great sketch and I've included it at the end of this post for you. I took the opportunity to scrap a photo of the grandkids that I dearly love!

I've used some yummy 7 Dots Studio 9th Wave papers as my base and miscellaneous supplies from my stash. The 7 Dots is so great for doing your mixed media work on the background - some of which got covered!  =) I had fun with my mists, molding paste and stencils but I think my favorite thing this time was the stamp work. The circles are Prima but the script one is Inkido.  Of course, everything got a nice touch of gesso!

Here are some close-ups for you!

I love adding in a bit of thread.

Oh, yes! Forgot to mention the chicken wire! It adds such great texture!

Loving the corrugated cardboard too!

Here is Karan's fabulous sketch! I have always been such a big fan of hers, so it is such a pleasure designing for her!

We'll be looking for YOUR take on the sketch over at Sketchabilities. Hope you can play along!  This challenge runs through March 13th. Also, due to the Linky failure during Reveal #109, Karan is offering up some great prizes!
A $25.00 gift card to the Silhouette Online Store …   and Creative Embellishments is offering up a $25.00 gift card to their online store. As a DT member of Creative Embellishments, I can attest to the quality and detail on these products!  Of course, Chapel Road Stamps is sponsoring us again since we couldn't choose a winner last time. Be sure and "follow and like the pages listed!"
Thanks for coming by! I always love reading your comments!

Sketchabilities Reveal Day! "Say Yes to the Dress"

Happy Friday, everyone! I'm back today to share my first Sketchabilities project as a member of the Design Team.  This one was really fun and can incorporate multiple photos if you like or you can opt to add tags or embellishments as I did.  Karan's sketches are such a dream to use, so please play along! Our sponsor for this challenge is Chapel Road Stamps .

I hope that you are not getting tired of wedding layouts! I have lots more to scrap .. and they are kind of fun! I've used Marion Smith's Mad Tea Party papers, a script stencil, molding paste, LSG mists and a Prima vine and vintage Prima metal flower.  I failed to write down the origin of my oval pieces but I'm thinking Maya Road or Prima.  My chipboard title is from Blue Fern Studios and painted with Silks acrylic. Oh, and for texture I've added in some gold metallic thread.

Here are a few close-ups for you:

And here is Sketch # 109.  You will have until February 26th to link up to Sketchabilities.  We can't wait to see what you create!

C'est Magnifique February Sketch Layout .. and a fond Farewell!

Hello, everyone! Thanks for coming by today! Hope your 2014 has been great so far!

I'm here to post the February Sketch for the C'est Magnifique Sketch Challenge.  While I'm at it, I get to share my take on it ... and sadly my very last project for C'est Magnifique! This one features my youngest daughter again along with her hubby. I think this is my fave of the Reveal this time .. or runs a close second!

Here are some close-ups for you!

To create my layout I've used the Main Kit, the Flower Add-on and the Embellishment Add-on.
From my stash: border punch, card stock and die cut machine.

Here is that sketch by Michele Singh:

Be sure and check the C'est Magnifique BLOG  to see all the challenge rules. We would love to see your layouts using our sketch.  Our Sketch Challenge is open to everyone and you may use any supplies you have on hand.  You do not need to be a member of our kit club to participate nor do you  have to use any specific products.  Feel free to flip or rotate the sketch, but we do want to be able to look at your layout and tell that you used the sketch.

I want to thank Leslie once again for having me these past 6 months. It has been fun and so rewarding!

There are lots of new scrappy opportunities on the horizon for me that I hope to share ASAP as well as lots of GDT work that is keeping me busy, busy, busy. So until then ...

Thanks for coming by! I appreciate you so much!
