It's another wonderful Friday and time for another Stuck on U Sketches Die Cut challenge! This week our challenge is "Love" .. either the word (which is how I interpreted it) or to convey the emotion in a Die Cut format. Remember that this challenge is about using our Die Cut machines
I created a very romantic page using some yummy Basic Grey Kissing Booth papers from the Flying Unicorn Store. I did some heavy distressing to my papers which made the white core show through. I thought the white made an awesome contrast with the hot pink. Of course, I did tons of layers and also mixed in a white paper doily as well as a white crochet one from my stash. There is a layered in transparency over the computer-generated journaling.
The title is my die cut portion and comes from the Cricut Home Decor cartridge. I've placed it on one of the Kissing Booth' collection's Die Cut pieces which says The Story of .. Under that is another transparency which is simply tucked in as another layer and adds some interest to the page. The flowers by the title spot are Prima's Mountain Lily in pink. There are more flowers above the photo which are from the Flying Unicorn store.
Under my photo are some Websters Pages Bloomers in green. I love those things! LOL I've also decorated my journaling transparency with a Prima SIIP swirl.
In the upper right hand corner is a Dusty Attic corner piece that has been painted white and decorated with a few white pearls. It is one of my fave and I am in the market for more!
There is also a version 1 of this page which I will tell you about after this weekend's blog hop. Heehee!
Now, I added a bonus project today which is a Valentine that I was working on for my hubby. I was determined to beat Cricut Craft Room into submission and I don't think I've won that battle yet but I'm making progress! The idea for this card came from an advertisement I saw of a little girl who's face was obscured with ballons. After several experiments, I settled on my image (from Forever Young) to be facing and holding the ballons which are from the Cricut Imagine cartridge Better Together .. as are all the colors and prints on my card except for the b/g which is from the Cricut Imagine Yummy cart. Love is still from the Home Decor cart but flood-filled with red from Better Together.
I used a ton of pop dots on the image's outfit as well as on the balloons. Of course, I have added my Baker's twine. I have to say that the card looks cuter IRL than it does in the photo. But oh, well. The CCR did not seem to cut the images as close to the print as when cutting directly from the machine but I do really like being able to move my images around on the mat and flood-filling them with patterns, then simply loading white paper on the mat. Love that part!!
Sorry for the very long post today but since I did finally get the card done, I thought I would share it as well. Not my usual style but I do want to learn these skills so I can hopefuly use them in any manner I wish.
I hope you wish visit the other DT members and join us in the challenge this time.
Thanks for coming by and I so appreciate your comments~
