Hello, scrappy friends!
Thanks for coming by the blog today.
Hopefully you'll find some inspiration and then get a little something created in your own scrappy space!
Sandi here sharing my second project using the June "Birds of a Feather Kit" for Scraps of Elegance Kit Club.
"Beautiful"
Even before my Kit arrived, I knew I wanted to use the Khaki side of the BoBunny Serendipity Feathers paper. It's like a wonderful blank slate with a little Boho look going on in the left lower corner. It pairs beautifully with the pinky/peach tones in the Kit, especially the lovely pink and peach print paper called simply Serendipity that I tore in wide strips, punched randomly and layered under my photo of Lucille Ball (circa 1974, Mame publicity photo.)
Of course, I prepped my background with clear gesso and did a bit of stencil work before starting my photo cluster. I adhered my paper to chipboard to prevent any warping due to moisture of the wet media.
I pulled a Blue Fern Studios Shrine chipboard frame from my old design team stash and covered it with white gesso, misted it with charcoal and sprinkled some charcoal glitter chunks here and there. As I created my layers, I grabbed some of the BoBunny die cuts that co-oridinate perfectly with particular paper. These are found in the ephemera (Noteworthy) pack in the Main Kit.

This is not a great photo but shows you a close-up of the stencil work, chipboard, layers and the magnificent Prima Memory Hardware spoon from the Elements add-on. I filled it with a few art stones and filled my sweet little bottle (also Elements add-on) with a few stones and adhered that.
My florals are all from the Floral add-on.
I adore the bright green butterflies (Main Kit die cut pack) against the khaki paper. I attached those using foam squares to give them lift. Lastly, I splattered white gesso all around the photo cluster area.
Here you can see the dimension of the layout. I love texture.
This June Kit has such a wide variety of colors and embellishments! I can see lots of projects in my future!
Here's a look at the June Kit:
The last time I checked it was not yet sold out, so hurry on over to the STORE and do some shopping!
Thanks again for coming by!
