Let The Wind Kiss your Face - International Scrapbook Garden

Hello, scrappy friends!

Sandi here with you today sharing another DT project created with the January Garden Kit and bonus kits from International Scrapbook Garden Kisses and Snowflakes.

For this layout, I opted to go cold and wintry and decided to go with more of the gray, silvery tones of the Kit with just a wink of teal. When I look out the window of my craft room, all I see right now is gray.  While I'm anxious for Spring, there is beauty to be found in Winter's colors.

I did less mixed media on this project but still primed with clear gesso and then added streaks of the Glitter Snow. For color, I used white gesso and some of the teal Prima chalk edger. I prepared the Creative Embellishments chipboard pieces (Blizzard Word Set and Dripping Hearts Lace Border) with gesso and then painted them white. To make the title a little more chilly feeling, I used some white embossing powder from my stash.

Also from my stash, I've used some paper doilies and cheesecloth for layers.

The Snip Art chipboard Frame was also painted white and used as a layer, as was the Dripping Hearts Border. For more layers I used the Emphemera from Prima's Zelle Teal collection.  A pretty silver flower was created with the singles in the Kit along with a brad from my stash.
In the background, you can see some of the stamping done with the KaiserCraft Clear Stamp.

More beautiful Prima flowers from Zelle Teal along with a tiny vintage Prima flower.

I've tucked in more ephemera and used the wonderful Snowflake brads from the Main Kit. And although, you wouldn't look for butterflies this time of year, I've added one for color and texture.

Loved embossing this little guy and mounting him on a strip of ephemera and foam tape.

I've scattered some of the KaiserCraft Teal Pearls around and dabbed everything with a coat of white gesso. Lastly, some watered down gesso was splattered about.

If you don't have a Kisses and Snowflakes kit, I hope you'll try to grab one before they are gone.

Dream ~ International Scrapbook Garden "Kisses and Snowflakes" Debut

Hello there, everyone!
Thanks for bearing with me during the very long process of packing, moving and unpacking. It's gone on far too long ... but we are finally getting settled.

I'm here today with my DT debut of The International Scrapbook Garden Kisses and Snowflakes kits.
I have recently joined the Design Team there and will be designing with the Garden Kit.
They have such beautiful Kits with gorgeous supplies including bonus kits ... and they focus on the "harder to find" international paper collections.

So, here is my first project where I'm using the 7 Dots Boardwalk paper as my base. Love this paper!
The photo is of my granddaughter MacKayla working with her horses in the bitter Kentucky cold. I hoped for a frosty look, so there is lots of shine that doesn't quite come across in photos. After doing some background mixed media work using the Bonus Kit supplies, I started layering and adding my embellishments.

Here is a photo of the Main Kit and a link to the store.
Kisses and Snowflakes kits

Here are some close-ups:

On the background I've used clear gesso to prime, then pushed super heavy gesso through the Prima Stencil included in the Embellishment Bonus Kit. Then I added depth with the Main Kit Kaiser Craft stamp using both black ink as well as the purple Color Philosophy found in the Mixed Media Kit.

I added color of course, using the Shimmerz Vibez in Grape Escape from the Mixed Media Kit.
It pairs beautifully with the Purple Prills from the Main Kit. I grabbed embellishments from all the various kits but was sure to include the Prima Zelle Teal Ephemera.

I adore the wood veneer snowflakes from the Main Kit! I've tucked them in amongst my flowers which are from both the Main Kit and from the Flower add-on.

Scrapberry makes the most divine Flair and these are included in the Main Kit. And there are lots of pearls and rhinestones to embellish. with.

Just a couple of views from the side. The colors all played so well together!

Hello, hello! I'm scrapping again!

Hello, hello!
It's been awhile, huh?
I'm finally getting my new house unpacked and gradually working on all my projects. It takes a while to get settled in a new home. About the time you think you're done, you find something else that needs attention.

Anyway, the other day I pulled out an old My Creative Scrapbook Kit and had myself a little fun playing! For inspiration I used the My Creative Scrapbook sketch by Laura Whitaker that was the Dec 16 to Jan 15 one. It's a stunner!

I love how sketches allow you to incorporate them with any style of scrapbooking. Although this looks more clean and simple, it worked great for my more shabby chic style.

The photos are of my niece and her daughter. Papers and embellishments are  Crate Paper. The chipboard title is by Blue Fern Studios.

Here's a few close-ups:

It was so relaxing to get creative with paper!
I'm anxious to make more time for scrapping, so see you soon.

Thanks for coming by!

Card and Tag Set ~ Scraps of Elegance

Hello, hello!

Sandi here with you today ...
What a lovely weekend we had here in Texas .. and now it's time to get back to business, right?

Today I'm sharing a fun card and tag set that I created using the September Scraps of Elegance Kit "Falling Leaves."  I'm always needing a card of some sort around here and having a co-ordinating tag for a gift is a real plus!

For the card I've primarily used Blue Fern Studios Apricot and Amber collection along with flowers and embellishments from Prima's Amber Moon collection. Papers include Amber and Apricot Birdsong and Friendship as well as a small strip of Amber Moon's Pumpkin Season. The co-ordinating chipboard pieces are Blue Fern Studios and are found in the Elements add-on. I've tucked in lots of small bits of Prima's ephemera also from the Elements add-on. Flowers are all from the Floral add-on. Those wonderful Blue Fern Studios seedlings are from your amazing Main Kit!

Just a little close-up of the seedlings and other details.

Don't overlook the sweet leaf brad found in the Main Kit. Those add such a nice touch and are part of your Main Kit.

I might have to keep this tag for myself because it just makes me happy!
I went crazy on layers with Prima's Amber Moon ... Autumn Sunset (both sides), Pumpkin Love and Into the Woods. Punching the edges is so fun when you're doing tags and gives them such a great finished touch. Next I added layers of notecards and ephemera along with the Amber Moon flowers from the floral add-on.

Here's a little close-up view. I've included the ribbon from the Main Kit but I snipped it really narrow for my use here and just tucked it in.

Just a little dab of gesso and some tulle (stash) to complete the look.

Here is that wonderful Main Kit. Please visit the Store to see which Kits Melinda still has in stock. Also there are lots of basic scrapping supplies there as well.

See you soon!
