Congrats, summa cum laude ~ SOUS, June 4th ~

Hello, scrappers! Time for another reveal at Stuck on U Sketches.  I feel as though I've been out of the loop for awhile but I guess I really haven't ..  May was just a busy month! One of the things we had on our schedule was my dgd Malerie's college graduation from Oklahoma Baptist University.  I designed this layout on my Gypsy while we traveled there the night before.

My papers are from Basic Grey's Capella line and so this layout is doing double duty as a Generations Crafting design team project.  I thought about printing my photos in black and white so that I wouldn't have to contend with the red clothing that a couple of folks were wearing. However, I wanted the whole enchildada (especially Malerie's school colors) .. so I left them as is.

The first thing I looked for on my Gypsy was a Congrats cut and found this cute one on Zooballoo .. I liked it because of the bird who looks as if he were singing, appropriate since Mal's degree was in Piano.  This photo shows my use of the MS deep edge fan punch, as well as the small Prima roses I added.  I decided to double mat my photos this week and like how it looks.

My subtitle was cut with my Cricut Songbird cartridge.  Gotta remember those highest honors! I went for the Prima flowers again this week, using some Gallery roses which were provided by Generations Crafting and went perfectly with my paper as well as more of my Prima tea roses.  I did add a bit of Cinammon Stickles to my Gallery roses just to kick them up a notch.

Here you can see that I added in some lace from my stash and applied some flat backed pearls to it.  I used a Jenni Bowlin calender die cut and added some very small pearls beneath the date for emphasis.

I hadn't used any butterflies in a few weeks and was having some withdrawal pangs.. so I cut a few from my Indie Art cart and decorated them with gems and Stickles. Of all my butterfly images, I think this remains my fave! I applied pop dots beneath the butterflies for dimension.

Since my corners were a little bare, I used some Basic Grey rub-ons that I've had for about 3 years.  I always forget how nice they look!  Added in another butterfly and beneath my title, used a Prima Ballerina Bloom. Yummy!

And ....

... since I had my design figured out, I threw together this page of my dgs Patrick who graduated from highschool a week later.  I used more of my Graphic 45 The Proper Gentleman Papers, Cricut Nursery Rhyme for my title, Graphically Speaking for the year, and then handmade some square flowers that look pretty cool and more masculine.  I've made 4 layouts from this collection and still have a few sheets of paper that I will likely use up on the companion page to this one.

Thanks for coming by. I love reading your comments!  As a design team, we at Stuck on U Sketches want to offer you the inspiration you are looking for ... so feel free to leave any suggestions that you may have or ideas about what you'd like to see next.

Have a great and safe weekend!
Sandi
