My Creative Scrapbook, Jan Reveal, part 2

Hello, there ~

I'm back today with another layout created with the January Limited Edition Kit from My Creative Scrapbook. Even before I received my Kit, I knew that I was going to use the pink and white polka dotted paper from Kaisercraft's Teasured Moments collection … if it was included in the kit.  Pam had given us a heads up regarding what we would be creating with this month but we don't always know  if we are getting a mix of papers or the entire collection. But I was pretty sure this would be included … it's peachy-pink, after all.

Anyway, I had this great photo from my niece's wedding that I've been wanting to scrap of her in her Kate Spade pink glittered heels along with sweet flower girl Lexi~ Four inch heels and she wore them ALL day and into the wee hours of the morning!

The embellishments from the Kit are just divine! So many little die cut pieces. bling, stamps and of course, flowers. I've snagged some drinking straws for my craft room and have included it on this page. You can buy them anyway but most craft stores have them in the bridal department.
You can see a bit of my stamping and paint splatters.
Plus a few microbeads from my stash.

Since my nieces's wedding colors included Tiffany Blue, I used the teal flower from the Kit. I love that the die cuts added to my clusters! The key represents Karen's and my Maiden Name, Key.
I split up my bling flourish and shortened it for my use.

Not much mixed media on my pages this month but here is a bit of stenciled super heavy gesso. Between the holidays and my hubby being in the hospital, I had to keep my scrapping in check. I am worn out and will be glad when things get back to normal-ish! My patient has kept me busy! :)

Just a close-up of these gorgeous Prima flowers! Of course, everything has received a touch of gesso to blend.

Pink and black are so feminine! Always a great color combo that I put to work here!
I still have so much product that I need to use up!

Thanks for coming by!
I have one more project coming up here in a couple of days.

My Creative Scrapbook Reveal Day, part 1

It's Reveal Day .. which is always super exciting for me!

The Limited Edition Kit was packed full of gorgeous Kaisercraft Treasured Moments papers and embellishments! Bling, alphas, Blue Fern Studios chipboard, trim … And 3 packages of Prima!!!

My creative juices weren't flowing too well this month because I've been pre-occupied with my hubby's surgery and recovery BUT this Kit got me going and I actually had great fun in spite of everything!

So, here is this month's "Lucy" page!
(Tumblr, photo credit, she's 37 yo here)

I did a fun fold back peek-a-boo technique with 3 alternate papers and used my die cut frame in an interesting way, white-washed the floral paper with gesso, then piled on the embellishments, papers and flowers. To blend everything, I added white acrylic paint mixed with gesso.
No other mixed media on this one!

Scroll on for the close-ups!

That's it for today!
I'll be back in a couple of days and share two more projects created with this Kit. And … I still have paper left over and a few embellies … certainly enough for a few more pages ..

Here is a photo of the LE Kit:

My Creative Scrapbook 2015 "Lucy" posts! In the spirit of faves ….

Hello, My Creative Scrapbook fans!
Thanks for stopping by the Blog today.

My fellow Design Team mate Christine Meyer (our Social Media Coordinator) had the great idea to share some of each designer's favorite work from 2015. As I was working on sending her a few of mine to use, I kept noticing that my actual  favorite layout each month is usually my "Lucy" project. I did my very first "Lucy" layout in 2014 kind of as a fluke.  I had found a rather glamorous photo of the famous comedian Lucille Ball and wanted to scrap it with the October 2014 LE Kit.  Pam and I both loved the concept so much, we decided it could be a sort of scrappy signature of mine ... something fun and a little different.  So far, I have only used Lucy's more glamorous publicity photos because I love that these are less well known and show a different side of her.

For 2015, I have eight Lucy projects for My Creative Scrapbook.
Here they are:

"Lucy, 1940s"

Thanks for coming by today!

It's a new year, a new month and time for another new sketch challenge for you over at Blue Fern Studios.
Michele Singh has created this beautiful sketch exclusively for Blue Fern! Isn't it gorgeous?
Love, love it!

I have created a layout using this month's sketch but am hanging on to it until my January BFS Reveal which will be January 12th. But in the meantime, it's your turn!

Here are the sketch challenge details:

One lucky winner, selected by a random draw, will receive a prize package of Blue Fern Studios chipboard!
In addition, we will also select 3 (or more) layouts to feature.
We have just a few simple rules to follow if you would like to participate in our sketch challenge:
1.) Feel free to interpret the sketch as you please by means of taking it as-is or
flipping/turning/mirroring it to suit your needs!
2). Please note that you can do whatever type of project you please - a layout, card,
canvas, altered item- whatever suits your mood and style!
We would love to see the different ways our sketch can be used.
3.) You must use at least one piece of Blue Fern Studios chipboard OR use Blue Fern Studios paper on your project. Please note that you do not need to use the pieces featured in the sketch
- use whatever suits your fancy! You can find the store nearest you HERE.
 {Do not use any other brand of chipboard on your project please!}
4.) Upload your project using the Inlinkz tool on the Blue Fern Studios Blog
