Hi, there! It's a happy Friday for me .. the beginning of a long, holiday weekend filled with fun and scrapping ... and it's time for a new challenge reveal at Stuck on U Sketches. This time we have another awesome original sketch by the uber-talented DT member Ness Waller. You sure won't want to miss a chance to play with her newest sketch!
My "subject" this week is a new photo of dgd Marianne, who normally does not like to have her picture taken by a photographer. So, even though it was super close to her 2nd birthday, the photo shoot was for her twin brothers. She just jumped up there and said she wanted her photo taken, play clothes and all!
My papers are the yummy Webster's Pages Nature's Storybook, a recent gift from Floren at Generations Crafting. Thanks, Floren! The large purple bloom is a Prima Autumn Harvest, Cerise. I really wanted to make my own bloom this challenge but time was working against me! My photo corner is a Dusty Attic piece, Ornate Corner #2, DA0315. Check out the Swirlydoos store for lots of unique chipboard .. and other stuff. My large ecru crocheted doily is from Joann's Fabric Store.
In place of the sketch's left sided curve shape, I cut a top note shape with the Cricut Gypsy Wanderings cartridge found pre-loaded on your Gypsy device. Everything else was either fussy cut or done with my trimmer. Of course, I can't seem to scrap without my Distrezz-it-all.
My trim was originally ecru but after being spritzed with some Smooch Spray and Glimmer Mist, it became a lovely shade of light burgundy. To that I added some matching flat backed pearls. Pearls were also added to my butterflies. After seeing that my top note needed a litle something, I used some Liquid Pearls in Bisque to outline the shape.
The Dusty Attic piece was first painted with Ivory acrylic paint with some Crackle Accent added after that dried.
Below is a copy of the sketch. I hope you will visit SOUS to see what the other designers have done! Moreover, I can't wait to see YOUR take on the sketch!
Have a happy weekend! And thanks for all your lovely comments. They really mean alot to me!
