Hello, there!
It's been a beautiful Spring weekend here in Texas and I've enjoyed some wonderful outdoor time ... as well as finished off my first Design Team project using the new March-April Garden Kit from International Scrapbook Garden. The Main Kit is called "A Rustic Spring" and features some yummy 49 and Market papers as well as Fabscraps Life is Beautiful. And of course, tons of embellies and add-ons.
For this project I chose to use this sweet photo of twin grandsons Samuel and Silas from last summer. Loved how dirty and disheveled they got playing in the dirt! Sweet. So, I went with all the blues and corals that I could find within the Main Kit and add-ons and then threw in some of the Finnabair Sunny Yellow Mica Powder for a burst of warm color. I'm so please with the outcome!
Since the boys were so dirty, grandma had to take a turn and get out the mixed media. The background was prepared with clear gesso and then color was added with some blue mist from my stash. An older Prima stencil was used for crackle texture. And lots of stamping! After that was dry, I began building my layers of embellishments.
The coral flowers from 49 and Market are gorgeous and work perfectly for this masculine page, especially with some of the blue flowers mixed in. Here you can see the sweet resin pieces which are perfect for the upcoming Easter season but work okay for my outdoor loving boys.
This sweet embellishment was in one of the flower packets and I snagged it for this project. The circular chipboard frame is also 49 and Market and was left unaltered. However, I did emboss the Creative Embellishments title piece. Then added some glow with that Sunny Yellow.
More flowers and color and the Creative Embellishments Trumpet Vine Flourish which was cut apart and embossed with Forest Green. The Finnabair Microbeads were added as well as some of the Sunny Yellow color from the mica powder.

Since I had extra sunny yellow paint, I added it all around somewhat as you would do with gesso to blend.
I adore the Antique Street Sign which I'm using for a title.
Everything came together beautifully.
