Christmas Card and Tag Set for Creative Embellishments

Hello, scrappy friends!
I'm here today sharing my latest project for Creative Embellishments
And I'm still on a shaker craze!
Can't get enough of them and there are so many crazy, good ones in the Store.

I decided it was past time to start making some of my personal Christmas cards, so I dug out my huge stack of Christmas papers and found some really old Basic Grey in your traditional Christmas colors.

The little Deer Head Shaker was calling my name although it took me awhile to figure out just exactly how I wanted to use him. He'd be great with a pair of glasses or some other personalization. But my guy just got sequins, beads and ah-hum, a flower!

Of course, I made a tag to match.

My deer head was stained with walnut ink and then I misted the antlers with some gold spray. Later I added some Cinnamon Sticklers for definition. He turned out so cute!

For a greeting, I chose the Merry Christmas from the Christmas Sentiments set.

Needing more dimension, I stamped some of the edges with my fave Distressed Crackle Stamp and some brown Staz-on ink. Some bling and it was done.

My tag was created with 3 layers of paper and some of my old punches. I keep them for this sort of thing!

I felt I needed a large chipboard element on the tag and decided on the Pine Cone Branch. It is truly gorgeous ... and I have already more of it!
The branches were misted with a green ink and the pine cones were brushed with some of that Cinnamon Sticklers. I added a couple of flowers to help co-ordinate with the card.

I also chose the "December" from the Christmas Sentiments set and misted it with a gold spray.
That was adhered near the top along with my red bow.

One set done and 64346790 to go!
Just kidding!

I hope you will visit the Creative Embellishments Store for your laser cut chipboard needs. And don't forget about the stamps, stencils and flair buttons!

Christmas in October! ~ 13 Arts Christmas Card

Welcome to "Christmas in October" at 13 Arts!

This month we are featuring the Christmas Traditions paper and products.
Since I only have the stickers, I used some other 13 Arts paper and products to create a card from some black, white and gray papers. I had an awesome cranberry embellishment that really set the Christmas tone.

I've used Notes and Thoughts, Aria Story and some torn Sounds Good, Aria Story on a card base. Then I adhered my sticker from Stickers, Christmas Traditions on some white card stock and added some corrugated cardboard behind it to give some dimension. Before adding it to the card base, I painted some Rainbow Color Black Duo all around the focal area.

My Vintage Summer Chipboard A4 chipboard piece was coated with white gesso and then I added some of the Aleen's Glitter Snow to it.

For more shimmer, I added some of my White Iridescent Glitter.  I then added some sisal and my cranberry embellishment out to the side.

Once my adornment was in place, I added a silver ribbon and a Flair button from Creative Embellishments. More snow and some splashes of Splash White Ink.

One last look at the chippy piece with all the snow and glitter.

I was pleased to be able to complete a Christmas project with traditional papers and my handy sticker!

Thanks for coming by!

Two of Us ~ 13 Arts Solo Layout

Hello, everyone!

Sandi here today sharing a romantic layout featuring both the Tailor doll stamps as well as a vintage photo of my parents. My mother used to sew quite a bit, so I thought it was fitting to use a photo os her and of course, had to include my dad.

Last month some of the Design Team showed you some awesome ways to use the Tailor stamps. For my purpose, I merely included them in my background stamping.

I used the Rose Rhapsody, Summer Rhapsody paper for my background and prepped it with a coat of clear gesso. Then I randomly stamped around my focal area with both the Add to Cart Stamp and the
Hello Ladies Stamp. I also included some of the Stitches stickers collection to replicate some stitching.

For my background stencil work, I've used the Antique Text Stencil and modeling paste. Once that was dry, I highlighted those areas with some color: Pink Ayeeda Water Ink as well as Olive Green Ayeeda Water Ink

Here is a close-up of one of the sweet young ladies from the stamp.

Remembering my mom's passion for red lipstick, I had to include a phrase from the Hello Ladies Stamp and used it quite generously all over the page. "On a bad day, there is always lipstick."

Under that stitch sticker is more stamping but my embellishments dictated the outcome as always.

From my stash, I did use a white crochet doily and some black thread for texture.
I am loving these new cardboard phrases that Aida created for us. You can find them HERE

For additional texture, I added some 3D Balls Medium

Sometimes I find that I like to deconstruct and alter my flowers and that is exactly what I've done here. I've added and removed layers. Cut and tore them in apart and also snipped the edges with a regular hole punch. It changes their character a bit and makes them more realistic.

Lastly, I included some stamens from my 13 Arts Flowers stash and then splattered everything with 13 Arts SPLASH White Ayeeda Ink. I like this better than white gesso because it is more dimensional.

Thank you for taking part of your day to visit the blog.
I hope I've inspired you to get busy and just create!

Pumpkin Shaker Easel Card ~ Creative Embellishments!

Hello, Creative Embellishments fans!
Can you believe we are officially into holiday season?!
Here in the Northern Hemisphere we are celebrating all things Fall and are headed into Halloween in the next few weeks.

I decided to create another easel card since I had those on my mind. To ramp up the fun, I've added a Pumpkin Shaker which was altered with walnut stain and a bit of Cinammon stickles. I've used some awesome sequins and beads from Buttons Galore and More to fill my shaker.
Next, I adorned my shaker with one of the Acorn Clusters and a ribbon.

Because I dearly love the Autumn Fall Leaves Titles, I decided to put them to work on my card, again using walnut stain and tickles. All the other embellies are from an old Scraps of Elegance Kit and feature Frank Garcia's Amber Moon collection from a couple of years ago.

I used the remainder of my Acorn Clusters to add as layers on my co-ordinating tag.
This one is so pretty! Maybe I should gift it to myself, huh?

If you are in the mood to create something Fall, you can find lots of great choices at the Creative Embellishments Store

Also, if you haven't checked out the Challenge for this month, please do! I had the honor of creating this month's mood board and it is perfect for this season. Just check out the blog HERE ... it is the first post!

October Challenge at Creative Embellishments!

I had fun creating a cozy mood board/challenge for Creative Embellishments and thought mostly about what Fall was like to me as a child. I was especially inspired by the linens on the clothesline and the funky, almost steampunk dress form lampshades.

My original intention was to scrap a photo of my parents or myself  but ultimately, I decided on an easel card and used the nostalgic Graphic 45 Portrait of a Lady paper collection. The Large Clock Face 5" reminds me of time gone by while the Moroccan Lattice Panel makes me think of traveling somewhere grand. The Ivy Sprigs represent my need for greenery in my home and in my art.

This is the  mood board for October:

I can't wait to see what you create this month!
